PanARMENIAN.Net – Snap elections in Armenia fully complied with the electoral legislation and the Constitution of the country, head of the observation mission from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Uzbek diplomat Ilhom Nematov told reporters on Monday, June 21.
Pashinyan’s Civil Contract party won 53.92% of the vote, while Hayastan (Armenia) bloc headed by second President Robert Kocharyan secured 21.4% of the ballots. “I Have Honor” bloc too will get seats in the parliament.
The CIS observers did not record any violations that could affect the expression of will of the voters and the results of elections. According to Nematov, the elections were organized at a high level.
The coordinator of the mission of the CSTO parliamentary assembly, Kyrgyz lawmaker Kanybek Imanaliev, also noted that the elections were held in accordance with the legislation of Armenia, Panorama.am reports.
“Of course, no perfect elections exist. However, the shortcomings were insignificant and did not affect the results,” Imanaliev said, noting that 49.4% turnout amid a pandemic “reflects the mood of voters”․
