PanARMENIAN.Net – Armenia is changing Covid-19 vaccination rules for tourists beginning from July 15, Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan told a Cabinet meeting on Thursday, July 8.

Under current regulations, foreigners residing in Armenia and travelers alike are eligible to receive the jabs free of charge. Following the changes, however, only people who spend at least 10 days in the country will be vaccinated, Avanesyan said.

The Health Minister also noted that foreigners will no longer be able to receive the Covid-19 shots in policlinics to avoid large congestions and causing inconvenience to the citizens of Armenia.

Also Thursday, Avanesyan said 5416 shots were administered in the past day alone, which she said is a “pretty good indicator”.

The number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Armenia grew by 186 to reach 225987 on July 8 morning. So far, 217,381 people have recovered, 4536 have died from the coronavirus in the country, while 1104 others carrying the virus have died from other causes.
