Two Armenian soldiers freed from Azerbaijani captivity

PanARMENIAN.Net – Azerbaijan on Tuesday, September 7 released two Armenian servicemen who went missing near the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in mid-July. Aramayis Torozyan and Artur Nalbandyan were freed in exchange for an Azerbaijani soldier recently arrested in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The two Armenians were flown to Yerevan from Baku by a Russian military plane. The swap deal was brokered by Major-General Rustam Muradov, the outgoing commander of Russian peacekeeping forces stationed in Karabakh

Nalbandyan and Torozyan went missing in thick fog on July 14 after driving a military vehicle near the border in Armenia’s Syunik province. Authorities in Azerbaijani, however, never confirmed the whereabouts of the two servicemen.
