The Russian Direct Investment Fund, the Armenian Ministry of Economy and the leading Armenian pharmaceutical company in Armenia, Liqvor Pharmaceuticals have announced the launching of production of Sputnik Light vaccine in Armenia.

“Sputnik Light” is the first component (recombinant adenovirus serotype 26 (Ad26) ) of Sputnik V vaccine. Preparation, produced in Armenia, will be used for vaccination of the population against coronavirus. Armenia reports daily Covid-19 cases of 342

PanARMENIAN.Net – The number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Armenia grew by 342 to reach 253,942 on Monday, September 20 morning, according to information provided by the Health Ministry. The number of daily cases last surpassed 1000 in April.

Fresh figures also revealed that 490 more people recovered, 12 patients died from Covid-19, while one person carrying the virus died from other causes in the past 24 hours.

A total of 4025 tests have been performed in the past day, the National Center For Disease Control and Prevention said.

So far, 236,578 people have recovered, 5143 have died

No contacts between Armenian and Turkish officials so far – PM’s Spokesperson

At the moment, no contacts have taken place between Armenian and Turkish officials, although the Armenian government is ready for such contacts, RA Prime Minister’s spokeswoman Mane Gevorgyan told Public Radio of Armenia. She referred to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s statement that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan offered to meet with him through Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.

Unblocking of transport links in the region will increase trade between Armenia and Russia – Overchuk

The unblocking of transport links in the region will help increase commodity turnover between Armenia and Russia, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk told reporters in Yerevan on the sidelines of the Armenia Business Forum 2021.

The trilateral working group chaired by the Deputy Prime Ministers of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan continues it activity. The last 7th meeting was held in Moscow in mid-August, Overchuk said,

Two citizens that had crossed to territory under Azerbaijani control returned to Armenia

The two Armenian citizens that had crossed to the territory under Azerbaijani control were returned to Armenia at 23:45 on Sunday, the National Security Service reports.

The repatriation became possible due to joint actions of the Armenian and Russian Security Services.

Late on Saturday two residents of Kasakh community of Kotayk province had driven off the road while moving along Goris-Vorotan highway and ended up in the territory currently controlled by Azerbaijan.

Erdogan says Turkey “not closed” to talks with Armenia

Turkey’s President on Sunday said his country was “ready for talks with Armenia” but added Yerevan needed to take steps towards opening a “corridor” that would have to go through Armenia to connect Azerbaijan to Nakhijevan, AFP reports.

Armenia and Turkey have no diplomatic relations and the shared border has been closed since the 1990s.

Earlier this month, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Yerevan was prepared to hold discussions on repairing relations with Ankara.
