Turkey is planning to set up an independent civilian body solely responsible for addressing allegations regarding the 1915 incidents upon the instructions of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, a report said Tuesday.
The decision to establish such a body was made at the High Advisory Board meeting at the Presidential Complex last week, according to Hürriyet daily.
The new approach to address the 1915 events had actually been on the government’s agenda since the U.S. Senate passed a resolution referring to the events as the “Armenian Genocide,” but discussion on the matter was delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak in Turkey.

During these two days, all the EU institutions without exception adopted an unprecedented number of documents that can be briefly described in two words as the political catastrophe for Armenia.
Former President of the European Council, now President of the European People’s Party Donald Tusk, the leader of the party with the biggest number of MPs in the European Parliament and represented in the EU leadership by ten commissioners, including President of the European Commission Ursula van der Leyen, made an official statement on this topic several hours before the Summit.
Artsakh Ombudsman Artak Beglaryan issued a statement on June 20 on the International Refugee Day.The statement runs as follows:Due to the Azerbaijani policy of ethnic cleansing (genocidal actions) since 1988, and the 1991-1994 Azerbaijani-Karabakh war, hundreds of thousands of Armenians (according to some expert estimates, almost 500,000) have become refugees or internally displaced persons. They were subjected to massacres, repression, homelessness, expropriation and other deprivations solely due to ethnic origin. Most of them were initially staying in the Republic of Artsakh or Armenia, but during the war some of them were repeatedly targeted by Azerbaijan,

He made the remark commenting on Pashinyan’s speech at the Summit of the Eastern Partnership countries held recently in the format of a video conference.
Hajiyev reminded that in October 2019 during the Summit of CIS heads of state in Ashgabat, President Ilham Aliyev exposed the policy of Armenia towards the Armenian Nazi collaborator Garegin Nzhdeh.
