US legislators press for statutory ban on military aid to Baku

In the hours leading up to Tuesday’s filing deadline, three senior members of the U.S. House have introduced amendments to the fiscal year 2022 National Defense Authorization Act (H.R.4350) zeroing out U.S. military aid to Azerbaijan, reported the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA).

SBS (Special Broadcasting Service) has apologised to the Armenian-Australian community after an independent Ombudsman determined that a report aired by the Australian network’s World News program concerning the 2020 Nagorno Karabakh War breached its Code of Practice, reported the Armenian National Committee of Australia (ANC-AU).

On 20th anniversary of 9/11, Armenia stand in solidarity with the friendly people of the US in commemorating innocent victims of terrorist attacks, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said in a Twitter post.

“Last year, Armenians of Artsakh encountered the horror of terrorism, and Armenia will put it utmost efforts in global fight against terrorism,” the Foreign Minister added.

On Tuesday 11 September 2001 suicide attackers seized US passenger jets and crashed them into two New York skyscrapers, killing thousands of people.

Ombudsman's staff visits Armenians released by Azerbaijan

PanARMENIAN.Net – Members of the Human Rights Defender’s office on Wednesday, September 8 visited the two Armenian soldiers freed from Azerbaijani captivity the day before.

Their health was assessed after the Ombudsman’s staff conducted separate interviews to determine the condition of their detention.

Azerbaijan on Tuesday released Aramayis Torozyan and Artur Nalbandyan in exchange for an Azerbaijani soldier recently arrested in Nagorno-Karabakh.
