Tatoyan revealed that in some cases the Azerbaijani side provided water or food to captured Armenians only after beating and humiliating them. According to him, PoWs captured during or after the 44-day war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Nagorno-Karabakh were tortured for both their ethnicity and religion.

Two Armenian soldiers return from Azerbaijani captivity

Two Armenian prisoners of war have returned from Azerbaijani captivity. The National Security Service confirmed the news Pubic Radio of Armenia.

Azerbaijani soldier Jamil Babayev, arrested in Artsakh late last month, was transferred to the Azerbaijani side. On August 25, he had crossed the border illegally and entered one of the houses in the Martakert region of Artsakh.

The return of the captives to Armenia took place through the mediation of the Commander of the Peacekeeping Troops of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov.
