The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation has granted 49 awards to educators for teaching in Armenian language classes online.

The Armenian Communities Department of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation launched “Prizes for Teaching in Armenian Online” in April 2020. The aim of this initiative was to encourage Diaspora teachers who use Armenian as a medium of instruction in their efforts during the sudden shift to online teaching platforms caused by the forced lockdown due to the Covid-19 virus.

Armenia Won't Send Athletes to CIS Games Due to COVID-19 Concerns

(Reuters) – Armenia will not send athletes to the first Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Games in the Russian city of Kazan in September due to concerns about the coronavirus pandemic.

The landlocked South Caucasus country, which has recorded more than 29,000 cases of the virus and over 500 deaths, became the first nation to withdraw from the Games which will feature competition in 22 sports for athletes aged between 14 and 23.

Make the Covid-19 Go: Little Singers of Armenia present new video

Given that rehearsals of the choir are prohibited, the Little Singers of Armenia has recorded the song “Sing” by the Pentatonics band individually, later combining it with sound equipment.

 The lyrics of the song were changed and renamed “Sing and Covid will go.” The young singers  thus joins the fight against Covidi-19.  The video recorded and edited by children.

Covid-19: Armenia reports 349 new cases, 605 recoveries

Armenia has reported 349 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total to 29,285.

The results of 803 tests have been negative.

According to the data of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 605 patients have recovered, bringing the total to 16,907.
